Will the Bengals keep Joe Flacco in if he wins every game?

QB Joe Burrow is anticipated to return to QB by say Christmas..... If Joe Flacco has command of the team....like he did last night...would it not be smart to just keep playing Joe Flacco and not place Burrown in at that point?

If it is working....not broke thinking.

If Burrow is able to play at some point and if the Bengals are in playoff contention at that time, then IMO you stick with the hot hand. You don't push Flacco aside to start a guy who, as talented as he is, will be pretty rusty and need a few games to get into a groove. Those few games could be the difference between qualifying for the playoffs/winning a playoff game and doing neither.

Plus, a 3rd degree turf toe injury is serious....over hyper -extension of the great toe...torn ligaments....Burrow required surgical intervention...so, yea, it would take weeks to even get agile enough to try and play....Essential, in my opinion...if Flacco is winning, keep him in....

What Flacco did on Thursday night against the Steelers was impressive, to be sure. And Cincy has a favorable schedule from now until Christmas, particularly against the Jets in Week 8.

But I can't imagine Flacco leading the team to any better than a 5-3 record over the next 8 games until Xmas. Admirable, but not enough to keep a QB being paid $55 million per year (that's Burrow's going rate) from taking over again, if he's healthy enough to do so.

This team was built around Joe Burrow. Flacco is a good backup, but there's a reason they were able to trade for him. If Burrow is healthy enough to play, you play him. He's that damn good.
