Beautiful high definition video of a Winter Wren singing song after song. Also includes an encounter with a Forest Tent Caterpillar.
An inhabitant of northern forests and high mountains, the Winter Wren is a fantastic singer. The male's high-pitched tinkling ramble has been likened to "a tremulous, vibrating tongue of silver" or an "incessant twittering flow." Thoreau was reminded of a "fine corkscrew stream issuing with incessant lisping tinkle from a cork, flowing rapidly."
