System wide in all of the Marlins organization, too. The Show and all minor league affiliates.
What's wrong with that? As San Francisco Chronicle columnist Bruce Jenkins reports ...
Wed like to think Buster Posey, Tony Vitello and his Giants staff are closer aligned with managers who staunchly refuse the notion, including Clevelands Stephen Vogt, Arizonas Torey Lovullo, Cincinnatis Terry Francona and Texas Skip Schumaker, who told The Athletic, Theres a competitive advantage when you have a smart pitcher and a smart catcher. I dont want that to be lost in the game.
Theres also the matter of the pitch clock winding down through an episode of confusion.
The whole idea concerns me, Giants broadcaster Mike Krukow said this week on KNBR (680AM). It stunts a pitchers growth, and you cant take away a catchers ability to think. Another thing is how your arm feels. That slider you threw two innings ago isnt working right now. Cant throw it. But they dont know that on the bench. They just have a statistical sheet."

Jenkins points out that "there are times, especially with a nervous pitcher or a youthful backup catcher, when the (bullpen choice) works best. And its a growing trend around the game, with several teams planning various levels of experimentation."
But an entire game? Keep that in mind as you watch the Marlins this year.

Big part of a catcher's value is play calling.
