Pretty, pretty good night for Kyle Schwarber

In the Phillies 19-4 victory over Atlanta, Mr. Schwarber went 4 for 6. All four of his hits were home runs. He racked up 9 RBI.

Multi-generational Cubbies fan here, watching the second half of this season fizzle away. Again.

But I'm keeping hope alive. They still got a chance; they're still looking good for the wild card.

And I'm still a Schwarber fan. I first saw him in 2015 when my mother and I went down to Cleveland when the Cubs were playing there. They brought him up to be the DH and I swear, he hit almost every ball thrown in his direction. I thought "who is this guy?" and he's been one of my favorites ever since. It was a dark day when the Cubs let him go.

Other than the ole unassisted triple play.

from a 5 HR game earlier this season. Wish he'd been able to pull that off.
