Pete Roses actions that led to his banishment were also "On the field" matters. That the commissioner did this shortly after consulting with Trump stains it further.
Trump would pardon Hannibal Lector if he could.
I love Pete Rose as a player just like I love President Bill Clinton, but both deserved banishment for the betting and the lying under oath.
Just my thoughts.
