Is Anyone Here Reading Dan Brown's - The Secret of Secrets?.....

Brown is my favorite author. I've read all his books - usually - can't put them down as soon as I get into them.

For some reason I'm having problems getting in to this one and I'm wondering if it's me or the book.

I'm looking for kinda a review here. What are your thoughts on this book?

For some reason it didn't draw me into the story as his other books.

Before I retired, I was an editor by profession. Too many internal inconsistencies and things that just didn't make sense in regard to the storyline. Too many poorly written passages. And I don't like to read with my internal blue pencil at the ready.

I agree that this one was less engrossing than some of his previous works but I did enjoy it. There were a couple of late twists that make up for some of the uneven middle. I think it would maybe translate better on film.

Also I did find myself skimming some of the location descriptions because I became anxious to find out what was happening to the characters, but did think I might re-read it someday so I could savor the on-the-page tour of places I'll never be able to visit myself.

The secret to keep me reading this book is still a secret. It did not make the cut.
