No-Mess Cutting Corn off the Cob

I took a newspaper outside and spread it out on a counter. Then I cut corn off 20 corn cobs using a cutting board and a knife.
Threw the husks and cobs into the bin going to the compost/recycling center and I was done. Took less than 10 minutes.
No mess except for corn kernals that fell on the newspaper and subsequently fell on the ground, but you know who likes corn. I might get a visit from those rogue raccoons who broke into my car last year. The ones who ate 20 croissants, leaving crumbs all over the passenger seat and paw prints on my car windows.
Before I took this messy job outside, I looked for ways to do it indoors, but I wasn't impressed with the techniques. I thought they would still make a mess. Here, however, is one technique that makes some sense. The tip that keeps the corn from bouncing out on the counters and the floor is to use a towel under the bowl and a folded paper towel in the bowl while cutting. Clip is about a minute:
I had a substantial amount of corn (20 ears!) I cooked it the way the RG showed me, with herbs (used sage and basil), olive oil, butter, and plenty of coarsely ground black pepper. I mixed in half and half.
I got a great deal on it, too! Memorial Day special: 10 cents a cob if you spent $10, not counting the corn.
