1. Coq au vin

Valentine's Day dinner in NYC.

Coq au vin with asparagus and mashed potatoes. Chardonnay.

Chocolates for dessert.

2. Was prepared to make dinner for my wife and I. She said Jersey Mike's sub so it is that and McDs french fries

from next door. Dessert is a peanut butter and chocolated pie that is out of this world.

4. NY Strip Sirloin, baked potatoes with sour cream

and sprinkle of bacon bits and shrimp.

5. Ribeye smothered in onions grilled in bourbon-butter sauce

7. Pork Tenderloin in a sweet citrus sauce,

Chunky chipotle mashed potatoes, iceberg salad with lots of fresh veggies. Fresh homemade banana bread.

8. Lemon pasta with bay scallops

... made the pasta from scratch.

9. I think we're going to have

fajita quesadillas tonight, followed by sopapillas for dessert.

10. Grilled ham and Jarlsberg cheese on rye/pumpernickel bread

using a Panini press.

11. Ropa vieja

with the last of the leftover pork roast. The recipe I'm using calls for a lot more meat than I have, so there will be leftover tomato/onion/pepper mix.

Keeping with the theme, we're also having Moros y Cristanos (spiced black beans and rice), and if I'm really ambitious fried plantains.

And vegan Indian Meethi mithai for dessert!


I am very fond of green peppercorns..we have a peppercorn tree and I love adding sautéed green peppercorns to everything!
