Ukraine is taking the war to Russia, and Moscow just showed the world why Putin’s missile shield is running dry.

Russian officials claimed 194 drones were intercepted near the capital, but drones still reached the Kapotnya refinery district, debris hit shopping centers and homes, civilians were wounded, and Russia’s own air defense appeared to strike oil storage inside Moscow’s infrastructure zone. Kapotnya supplies roughly 40% of Moscow’s fuel market and processes about 230,000 barrels per day, so the strike reached the fuel system that keeps Russia’s capital moving.

By using defensive S-300 missiles for attacks on Ukraine, Putin made the shortage worse and left fewer missiles for the drone war now reaching Moscow, Crimea, occupied cities, refineries, fuel depots, and military sites. Sanctions, missing components, closed supply chains, and damaged launchers now make replacement harder while Ukraine keeps producing long-range drones at scale.

Kremlin loyalists are now telling Russians to prepare for sacrifice and hard times because Moscow’s skies show the problem Putin cannot hide: Ukraine is taking the war home, Russia is losing protection, and the next wave may be worse.

1. The Russians can't build S-300 interceptors as fast as Ukraine can make drones.

The US can't make Patriot missiles as fast as Iran can make Shahed drones.

I saw a YouTube short this morning of a Ukrainian FPV (first person view) drone armed with a SHOTGUN, take down a Russian drone one on one, and the FPV probably had more shots remaining for other drones. Ukraine is out-innovating Russia and things may get rough for Moscow real soon.
