Ukraine has struck one of Russias largest oil terminals as part of a huge overnight cruise missile and drone attack.
Blasts rocked the Black Sea port of Novorossiysk, which appeared to have exploded in a fireball as Ukraine continues its assault on Russias energy infrastructure.
Russia has halted oil exports from the port, halting two per cent of all global supply, which a Ukrainian security official claimed could mean millions of dollars less for the Kremlins war machine.
Reports suggest Ukraine used its own Neptune long-range cruise missiles to take out the advanced air defence systems surrounding the port, clearing the way for its drones to target the oil infrastructure.

(154 posts)In Novorossiysks port through the night,
A fireball burst into sight.
Ukraines bold attack
Held Russia right back,
And halted its oil outright.
A terminal vital and vast
Was struck by Ukraine in a blast.
With exports now stalled,
Two per cent of all
Global supply has been cast.
A security source chose to claim
That the Kremlins war-funding would wane.
With millions now less
For Russia to press,
The strike hit its energy vein.
Long-range Neptunes, Ukraines own design,
Took out air defenses just fine.
With the shields torn away,
Drones swept in to lay
Their payloads on targets in line.
As infrastructure burned in the dark,
Each blast left its thunderous mark.
The strike, some suggest,
Was Ukraine at its best
A blow at the Kremlins war arc.
