a landmark achievement for Egypts automotive sector, Cairo-based bus manufacturer MCV has delivered an advanced fleet of 35 hydrogen-electric buses to Austria. The deployment represents
one of the largest eco-friendly transit deals ever secured by an Egyptian company within the highly competitive European sustainable mobility market.
The official vehicle handover took place this May in the Austrian city of Villach, perfectly timed with the inauguration of the projects dedicated hydrogen fueling infrastructure. Commuters wont have to wait long to catch a ride, as the fleet is scheduled to launch commercial operations across regional and intercity routes in the southern state of Carinthia starting this June.
This fleet injection marks a historic milestone for Austria, standing as
the nations largest single deployment of hydrogen-powered buses to date. The initiative serves as the backbone for Carinthias ambitious DeCarB project, a large-scale provincial master plan aimed at completely decarbonizing its regional bus network.
Engineered for regional transit, the low-floor MCV C127 FC LE models boast an impressive range of up to 400 km on a single charge. Crucially for Alpine routes, the buses deliver rugged, reliable performance tailored to negotiate challenging mountainous terrain, all while mirroring the quick refueling times of traditional diesel vehicles...more
