Munich, September 16, 2025: Germany has launched the world’s first full fleet of hydrogen-powered passenger trains. These trains will replace diesel engines on non-electrified routes.

Powered by fuel cells that mix hydrogen and oxygen, these trains emit only water vapor—producing zero emissions and significantly reducing noise pollution.
