Every internet video suddenly has text captions? Annoying and distracting.
Is it something I did? How turn off? Thanks.

Spelling errors so blatant they're not even a matter of spelling anymore. It's the wrong damned words !

It's YouTube. Click on the little 'CC' icon to toggle them on / off. nt

Strange, it works for me. I'm using outdated Firefox on outdated OSX (15.7).

There seems to be two captions: one in bold that I can turn off. Another is smaller white font that remains. Wonder if

(50,045 posts)1. If you're on a phone or tablet you may have accidentally touched the CC box
at the bottom of the video. Play a video and deliberately touch the CC box and see if they go away.

What platform are you using ?
It may be just that the controls are implemented differently. The little settings icon (a gear) can also be used to make CC/subtitle choices.

It...I drag the browser windows down to hide text but that eliminates half the video n only works on desktop. Mostly just move on
