Alberta orders teachers back, invokes notwithstanding clause.

It's war. There are already 3 approved recalls and real talk of a general strike.

Alberta Premier Danielle Smith’s government introduced a bill on Monday to force striking teachers back to work as early as Wednesday.

Bill 2, the Back to School Act, imposes a collective agreement, and invokes the notwithstanding clause to shield the legislation from court challenges for the duration of the four-year deal. The government is aiming to pass the bill as soon as possible.

part of Canada. It can now go to referendum, exceeded expectations - needed 279,000 in 90 days and got over 456,000. There are a lot of petitions going around here, trying to recall some MLAs of her party and to stop her from doing some of her other shit. I am hoping that the unions in Alberta will jump in to help out the teachers by work to rule. Nobody is giving up, we have to shut this government down, they are a disaster.
