(10,517 posts)I was already embarrassed the FIRST time this shit head son of a worthless whore was installed in the Oval Office. This second time around has just convinced me that the 27-30% of people who still love this shit head (hardcore imbeciles that are the 45% of the approximately 50% of all Americans and their accomplices) are putid puddles of amphibian piss and I'd sooner call them ANYTHING but countryman or friend any longer or ever again.
If we have a natural disaster, I watch the footage hoping to see wrecked property festooned with Trump regalia and signs. If we have a depression, I am going to put out a sign that says "hiring, MAGA need not apply". I hate them and him and what has been done to this nation as a result. I am sick to my stomach that both the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence and the 25th commenoration of 9/11 will occur under his administration.
Oh, Canada! I always did like their anthem too...

(26,709 posts)I relatively recently found out, thru Ancestry.com, that most of my maternal grandmother's family were born and raised in Canada, except for her. Her parents, both her siblings, her grandparents and further back. Her father's occupation in census records is listed as farmer, and the speculation is that the family may have moved about seasonally helping with harvests.
I wish I knew more about this. She was born in 1894, so there's no one left to ask.
I also wish I could claim Canadian citizenship.

I think the tribbles would have turned actively hostile in the presence of Agent Orange like they did to the Klingons, being they are very perceptive creatures and good judges of character, or lack thereof! 😎

(1,189 posts)Sucks for the Democratic minority in those states, sure, but...they're kind of fucked in this scenario (or well, most all scenarios, unfortunately). The leadership in those states would sooner secede and/or form a second Confederacy before they went along with it.

(1,118 posts)What a splendid idea. Pacific Northwest and Northeastern States can annex into Canada. Maybe I-80 up?
Red States can stay and form the Republican Utopia of factory serfdom, two dolls and five pencils, with all the higher crime rates, drug rates and overdoses, suicide rates, obesity and overall health issues and lower education and life expectancy they already enjoy in the Red States!
