Wild Waves to make way for giant warehouse under new proposal

As Wild Waves Theme Park winds through its final season this summer, new plans are advancing to build an over 1 million-square-foot industrial warehouse on the Federal Way property.

Commercial real estate firm Panattoni Development Co. plans to lease, redevelop and manage the site for future tenants.

The project, Podium I-5, is expected to break ground in spring 2027.

Longtime Wild Waves operator Premier Parks LLC announced the park's closure in December, citing millions in lost revenue due to the pandemic. Its final day will be Nov. 1. The closure ends a five-decade run for Wild Waves.
