Edmonds to host town halls for levy ballot measure
EVERETT The city of Edmonds will host a series of town halls to discuss its November property tax levy lid lift ballot measure.
In July, the City Council voted to put the $14.5 million levy on the ballot as an attempt to address the citys fiscal crisis. The money from the levy would go toward police, parks, planning, streets and sidewalks, according to the councils resolution. If the levy fails, the city has said it would have to make cuts to these areas, as well as human services, cultural services and others.
The levy would raise property taxes by about $756 per year for the median homeowner. In Edmonds, the median home value is about $840,200, according to the city. In April, Edmonds voters approved annexation into South County Fire, raising property taxes by about $744 per year for the median homeowner. Both tax increases would go into effect in January 2026.
All town halls will take place in the Brackett Room at Edmonds City Hall at 121 5th Ave. N.:
