Pfizer lays off 100 workers at former Seagen headquarters in Bothell

Pharmaceutical giant Pfizer (NYSE FE) has laid off 100 employees at the former Seagen headquarters in Bothell.

The layoffs were effective Monday, according to a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification the company filed with the state of Washington.

New York-based Pfizer is trimming its local workforce as it focuses on improving its research and development productivity, with an emphasis on opportunities for “digital enablement and automation,” the company said in an emailed statement.

The company has been looking to cut costs amid dwindling sales of its Covid antiviral pill, Paxlovid.

had to give layoff notices for a certain amount of time... like 60 days notice? I'm seeing a lot of these companies doing layoffs at what seems like the drop of a hat, with no prior notice to employees. WTF? Is that just another law that got drop kicked off the books because trumpy bigwigs found it too inconvenient?
