I'll also send out my personal kudos to the Hematology and Oncology department at the University of Vermont Medical Center. They've kept me alive so far.

Going through some near tears moments today (I just found out). But the news and your post are making me revisit some Vermont roots. My mother enrolled in nursing school in '79 at UVM at the age of 40 and then worked at what at the time was the hospital's Mary Fletcher Unit. She loved her job. I remember hearing work stories and her mentioning a young resident named Howard Dean. I would later credit him with curing the worst case of strep throat I ever had, though all he did was prescribe antibiotics.
