SC-HD50: Early voting for SC House District 50 special election begins

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - Voters in South Carolina State House District 50 can begin voting for their preferred candidate to replace former Rep. Will Wheeler, who unexpectedly resigned in January.

Early voting in the race between Democrat Keishan Scott and Republican William Oden began Monday.

Scott is a 24-year-old minister and current Bishopville city council member who is running on a platform of ensuring equitable access to healthcare, education reform and economic growth.

Oden, the former chairman of the Sumter County Republican Party, has a platform that consists of adding more jobs to the area, advocating for school choice and supporting the right to life.
