The issues shaping the Westfield mayor race and where the candidates stand

WESTFIELD – The town’s governing body will look much different in 2026 when a new mayor and four new council members are elected on Nov. 4.

Democrat Jeremy Berman and Republican Councilman Michal Domogala are vying to succeed Mayor Shelley Brindle.

Brindle, who’s served two terms as Westfield’s first woman mayor, announced earlier this year that she and fellow Democrats, Council members Linda Hapgood, Mike Dardia and David Contract would not seek reelection.

Berman’s running with Democratic council candidates, First Ward: Reshma D. Adwar; Second Ward: Vikram Venkataraman; Third Ward: Jennifer C. Gilman; and Fourth Ward: Drew S. Pecker.
