Lisbon town council election could cause shake up

LISBON, Maine — The Lisbon town council election could cause a shakeup in town government, as a slate of four candidates is looking to bring the town back to a town meeting structure.

"We're all kind of devastated. You know, we love Lisbon, and we're like, what happened?" Dale Crafts, candidate for town council, said.

Crafts is a former councilor, state representative and candidate for Congress. He and three others are running to become the majority of the town council and bring back town meetings, but it won't necessarily be easy to do.

"I can't decide that when we have a charter commission, they can bring that up and look at that. And then if they decide to go that way, it would have to go on the ballot and the people would have to approve it," Crafts said.
