(Hendricks County Sheriff's Office)
BROWNSBURG, Ind. (WKRC) A former Indiana teacher was sentenced after she forced a neurodivergent student to eat his own vomit. ...
According to WXIN, Sara Seymour, a former Life Skills teacher at Brown Elementary School in Brownsville, Indiana, was sentenced after she pleaded guilty to one count of neglect of a dependent as a misdemeanor charge.
Citing authorities, the outlet reported that on Feb. 16, 2023, Seymour was in a lunchroom when she told a student that he would have to eat whatever he threw up. When the boy vomited, Debra Kanipe, an aide, handed the child a spoon, the station reported.
Kanipe and Seymour stood on each side of the child as he consumed part of the vomit, then used paper towels to clean up the rest, according to WXIN.
