CVS has COVID vaccine and is administering it. BE FORWARNED

it is LAST YEAR'S Moderna, not the new stuff that was just approved. I would not be surprised if the Washington Post article was their plan to scare people into getting vaccinated this week. This country is a fascist kleptocracy. I will never patronize CVS again.

If I am wrong, someone please correct me.

Four months ago, I got a COVID shot at Publix. I was told a new version of the vaccine would be available in September.

Now, it seems to just not be available at all, thanks to DeSantis and his pet surgeon general.

Ironically, DeSantis championed the first COVID vaccine five years ago. He took steps to make it available and bragged about it to the news. I got my first shot because of a pilot program he set up.

That lasted for a few months, until it became politically expedient to be against vaccines.

No one who passed through the waiting area looked young and no prescription was required. This was in the "Minute Clinic" area of the store. I understand the pharmacy requires prescriptions. My Medicare Advantage plan said I would be covered "with a prescription" when I called them a little while ago.

They wouldn't give it to me a couple of weeks ago, though. They did require a prescription to get it.

The staff couldn't say what the current state policy is until it hears from the CDC. They're juggling input from FL scum gov. Desatan, quack state surgeon general Lapado, and Brainworm Bobby Jr.---(imagine what it's like to try to maintain public health with those POS giving the orders!). There may be more info available tomorrow, Friday, Sept. 19, but who knows.

The phone # I called was 1-877-888-7468. Staff really tried to be helpful, given everything they're dealing with.

so my Dr wanted me to get the Phizer. Never had an issue with that one. Dont ask me I'm no bio-chemist lol.

Edit: My local CVS also states Updated Phizer and Moderna on its local webpage. I hate CVS but have always gotten my Covid shots there as the pharmacist is my high school math teacher and I trust her to be up front. I use Walmart for my prescriptions. Long story.

15. Ingles Pharmacy in NC has updated Moderna vaccine, got it this week

Last Friday Gov. Stein did executive order to authorize without prescription and state also put out a list of pharmacies carrying the new Moderna Covid which included Ingles Pharmacies (widespread grocery chain headquartered near Asheville). Before this week, the pharmacists at Ingles told me they had not gotten any Covid Vac for this season.

I had an awful night after the shot with muscle and joint aches, backache, headache etc. However a caffeine coffee, oatmeal and an Aleve made me feel much better within an hour after waking. At least I know I really got the vaccine! Spouse also felt like they were coming down with something during night, but quickly recovered in morning.

Their pharmacy requires a prescription, even for a 78-year-old man. The "Minute Clinic" in the store doesn't but wanted Medicare or a lot of money.

CVS is complying with that requirement. Any pharmacy in Florida will require a prescription.
Do you have Medicare? Do you have a primary care doc? If so, contact the doc's office and request the prescription.

Here in NC we had the prescription requirement until our Dem Governor stepped in and took action to do away with the prescription requirement for seniors. The shots are no longer free, though, Medicare was billed for mine when I got it last week.

The "Minute Clinic" inside CVS gives COVID vaccine to people on Medicare without a prescription. The pharmacy also gives COVID vaccine but requires a prescription. What bothers me is that the "Minute Clinic" people suggested I could use my Medicare card. I have Medicare Advantage, so that claim would have been denied and I would have been on the hook for it as far as I know. This state is so screwed up nobody really knows what is going on.

that you see? Presumably someone in your MA approved network? Have you called their office to see if they will write you a prescription for the COVID vaccine? Or are you saying your Medicare Advantage plan will not cover the shot, even if your MA primary doc writes you a prescription?

I should be able to get vaccinated without a prescription once the "guidance" comes out, based on being 78 years old. I want the new Moderna vaccine and am willing to wait for it.

I haven't heard if anyone else has it or not. I always get mine there so didn't check elsewhere. They do have the new vaccine, afaik. I mean, I didn't see invoice from the shipment to ever be 100% sure, but what they gave me this week they couldn't give me two weeks ago.

Check to see if your state is letting pharmacists give the new shot.
