Is there a way to buy a peerage these days? Because I would contribute cash money to get Sean Dunn named the Earl of Sandwich

(9,550 posts)I was looking to get some of my favorite mayo the other day.
In a St. Paul, Minnesota Cub... Duke's Mayonnaise: $11.95...
Duke's is not 'imported'... it is not made of gold...
Mayonnaise is twelve fucking dollars???
But, we have yet to do anything about this price gouging, so I will be going without it for now. Probably forever, since I cannot afford SIX dollar mayo, let alone FUCKING TWELVE DOLLARS for it!
(But, let's not even consider that unfettered capitalism (which knows no political party) is the cause of most of this crap. Let's just act like it has nothing to do with it.)

(67,489 posts)Dukes was a holdout; for a long time, they kept the jar size at 32ounces. Like Hellmans, theyve gone to a 30-ounce container too. That sells for four- or five-ish, maybe?
And good morning.

(9,550 posts)It was a large one. I do not recall the size/weight.
This is in Minnesota. Duke's is made in South Carolina.
For some reason, this means that Cub can charge eleven dollars for the fact that they have it here.
I really love Duke's mayo. But, not that much. Just wow.
And, a good morning to you as well!

(5,430 posts)A lot of this is actual price gouging ontop of the underlying inflation.
