Absentee ballot applications now available for city House seat election
NEW BRITAIN — Absentee ballot applications are now available for the Tuesday, January 6 special election in New Britain’s 25th House District.
The election will fill the vacancy left by the resignation of former State Rep. Bobby Sanchez. The Democrat stepped down last month after he was elected mayor of New Britain in the November 4 election.
Only voters who live in New Britain’s 25th District may vote in this special election. It will be the first of three special elections planned in the state in early 2026.
Voters in the District will have three ways to cast their ballots: in person on Election Day, Tuesday, January 6; in person during early voting, which begins Wednesday, December 3; and by absentee ballot, if legal conditions are met
