I've had some experiences in the Bay area, like "Didn't I park here this morning?" and "Didn't I have a catalytic converter this morning?" while commuting on BART, but no carjacking, thank goodness.

This sucks in every possible way.

They time the patrols, walk up to the vehicle with a backpack, roll under, take the cat converter and walk away. I was lucky in that it was a public lot and a saw was too noisy so they unbolted it.

No end to that crime. I was debating some defenses (like making my pickup a low rider) and some others not worth mentioning.

Well, electrics, but I am sure they will find a way to steal the battery. Or just hack into the car.
