Jones announces re-election bid for Perry Co. Sheriff
Perry County Sheriff Ricky Don Jones has announced his intention to seek re-election to the office in 2026. Jones says he has accomplished many things during his two-and-a-half years as the sheriff, including the team/family atmosphere that's been built at the sheriff’s office and, with the support of the Quorum Court, getting pay raises for all of the sheriff’s office employees. He notes that his office has been able to make hundreds of felony arrests; recover thousands of dollars of stolen property; upgrade old, outdated equipment; obtain hundreds of thousands of dollars in grant money, new bullet proof vests, new body cameras, and new car cameras; and make huge upgrades in the jail and dispatch, all while working within the budget...
