- Warning - there are a few spoilers here -

The new teaser trailer for “The Pitt” Season 2 is here and, with it, come several morsels about what to expect from new episodes of the hit Pittsburgh-based medical drama.

Among the reveals for the season, set to premiere in January, is that lead nurse Dana Evans — played by Katherine LaNasa, who’s up for an outstanding supporting actress Emmy for the role — has given up on her decision to quit. Dr. Langdon (Patrick Ball) returns from rehab, wearing a Pittsburgh Penguins cap instead of the usual scrubs. And this time, Dr. Trinity Santos (Isa Briones) is the one giving interns the friendly advice.

In the trailer, released by HBO Max Thursday, lead actor Noah Wyle, who plays Dr. Michael “Robby” Robinavitch, is the first person we see walk into the Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Center — paralleling the start of Season 1. Taking place 10 months after the events of the inaugural season, the Fourth of July weekend at the center of the new one figures to bring a slew of patients to the emergency room.

In a continuation of the show’s established format, each episode is slated to represent one hour of a trying 15-hour shift. The trailer also confirms that interns are returning too, including: Dr. Whitaker (Gerran Howell), who audiences learned was homeless at the conclusion of Season 1; 20-year-old medical student Victoria Javadi (Shabana Azeez); and second-year resident Dr. King (Taylor Dearden).
