Our data is not safe in the healthcare system - TMH sends letters to more patients impacted by June data breach

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) - Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare released an update Tuesday about a recent data breach impacting some of its patients.

TMH said the cybersecurity incident happened with a health records company they previously used called Cerner.

TMH sent letters to impacted patients in June and then again in December.

Cerner revealed what information may have been accessed, including medical records and social security numbers.

years after I have stopped doing business with them? I got a letter from BCBS many years after I stopped using them saying I was involved in a data breach. This is the 3rd or 4th one I have received from companies I no longer do business with. It should be a law that they have to purge (not sell) my data as soon as I stop using them.
