I just got back from the one I mentioned and it was a giant waste of time. The place was stinky and gross and I would have had to have spotted an original Picasso to buy something from the place. Yech! I hate when that happens.

My main winter haunt, the thrift shop, has a fox in the hen house. I spotted a known dealer pricing things which means the good stuff is being sold to staff and going out the back door. I did find one good photo there over the winter by a very famous photographer. They must not have known who she was. I'm only half remembering that tray, although I do remember keeping an eye out for it for months after that post. LOL.

Went out today and stopped at a couple of sales. One had a lead pouring pot and about 30 pounds of lead. Ask if he had any fishing stuff and he said come on back to an out building. Got a split bamboo rod and 5 vintage reales still in the box. Then I asked about my second big interest, do you have any old instrument. Come on in the house, he said. Had an 1930 Oahu guitar in great shape. Spent $85 and should be able to turn everything quick for about $300. Made one call and sold the lead stuff already. Not bad for 3 hours work.

a long handled melting/dipper and ingots of lead. Every thing else I found was in a back building or the house. I've found so many nice things by asking about the stuff I like. Seems to work very good, for me, on guitars.
