1. reminds me of a coworker I had

he was very angry when his teenager brought home a stray kitten she found.......but three years later when she was leaving to go to college he asked her, "YOU'RE NOT TAKING THE CAT WITH YOU, ARE YOU?" He was totally attached at that point (and yes the cat stayed with him)
