I had a busy, but wonderful week in clinic. I left every day feeling like Im good at what I do. Thats so rare nowadays.

(29,378 posts)I recently came across a card I had saved, sent to my boss by the mom of one of my patients, and then passed open to me. In it, the mom expressed her appreciation for my diligence and communication skills, and further said, "I wish she was (sic) a gynie so she could be my doctor."
The postmark is a little blurred, but looks like way back in 2000, 4 years into my time with that practice. I'll continue to keep it and look at it from time to time. Moments like that go a long way to balance off times when things were stressful and draining.

". You and me, both. We don't have Trump Derangement Syndrome, we have Trump Exhaustion Syndrome. I am soooooo sick of what an uncivilized cretin he is, and distressed by how many of our countrymen find him admirable.
I continue to be happy to be retired. About once a month, a few of us from my office get together to walk and then have brunch. At the last one, one of my MD colleagues was lamenting the anti-vaxx parents and said this ignorance has now expanded to parents refusing the vitamin K shots that newborns have gotten for decades to get them started producing Vit K, and also the eye ointment to prevent possible GC eye infections.
I don't miss dumbass parents.
