Baseboard Stepdown.

I have to run some baseboard around 2 columns in my dining room where the floors around the column are of different heights.

I took care of this somewhat 10 years ago, without knowing how to do it properly. It came out alright, but not great. Every time I walk by it, I say to myself "I have to figure out how to fix that shit".

I woke up at 130AM thinking about it because I had a dream about it. So I started searching YouTube videos, and I found this one. I used all kinds of search terms: Baseboard different heights, raked baseboard, baseboard angles, baseboard step-down...and I finally came across this video. If you start the video at 2:55, you'll soon see a picture of the cuts that it takes to do this.

I'm going to give this a shot, but this guy in the video goes too fast, and doesn't explain things very well. I think I understand it, but knowing how I work, I'm probably going to have a problem when I get to the miter saw.

Posting this in case anyone is interested in stuff like this. These are the things that no fooling, keep me up all night thinking about.
