I think the greenish color we see low in the north is the aurora borealis!

It's been sighted as far south as Cape May and Hammonton NJ. We're near Jackson.

I took a photo and it shows a little bit of dull purple along the horizon.

There's a photo of the aurora in Batsto NJ on xitter too. I saw the photo on NJ.com.
