(18,340 posts)I want butter and gravy on my mashed potatoes, so I dig a hole, bury a pat of butter in it, then close it up and pour the gravy on top. It's the Baked Alaska style of mashed potatoes.

(75,498 posts)But, she won't be able to next Thursday.
First, it's a potato puree, so no crater.
Second, there will be no gravy. Au jus, yes. Gravy, no.
On that subject, I've decided to char some Brussel spouts, then poach them in wine, and make a wine & butter sauce.
Yesterday, i told you the veggie was undecided. This idea popped into my head while playing golf today.

(75,498 posts)It's not that she hasn't told me yet. I don't think she's decided.

También, por supuestoalso, of coursewe no longer have either potatoes or gravy for Thanksgiving.
Nor turkey either, for that matter.

But, if we did, I *would* make a cratertho perhaps not on this scale

Happy Thanksgiving
