A simple, beautiful lesson I learned from Robert Redford

in The Horse Whisperer: There is a scene where RR is making scrambled eggs for himself and Scarlett Johansen' character. She's says something that indicates she's ready to open up about what's happened in her life. The camera focuses in on RR's hand turning the gas off on the uncooked eggs.

The lesson was that if you really want to value someone and hear them, stop what you're doing and focus only on them.

What simple lesson did you learn from a Robert Redford movie?

He was so comfortable in front of the camera. His facial expressions, here raised eyebrows, smiles, wrinkles. So many actors only scowl or grunt.

But I don't know what the lesson is. Get good at your craft whatever it is.

Broaden it a bit to maybe like: If something important is going down, stop other activities to concentrate focus on the important thing going down.

Part of the trick is to be able to perceive and recognize "want to hear them" and "something important going down".
