I was just caught in a massive hail storm about a mile from home. It had started

to sprinkle, then WHAM--all of a sudden hail. Molly my dog was in back and she started to bark. A car right in front of me pulled over but I went around since I was so close to my driveway while I rolled up both my windows. There was no garage or anything where I could go under anyway
But the hail it keep coming faster. I got into garage but lots of hail hit the car. I am afraid to look at damage. I was soaked because the rain came so fast-and the hail with it and windows were down cause it was so warm.

Still sprinkling out and dark. I can see the town lights are on.
I do not want to go look right now. Can't do anything right now anyway. but DAMN--it came so quick.

I've had to replace my roof three times in my 40 yrs here (CO). I've lucked out with my cars. Just lost a mirror.

But it *can* be a good time to buy a new car if you don't mind the pockmarks.

If they were small … dime to quarter size … the damage may be slight …

Golf ball to softball size will be pretty bad

5. I wish you good luck. No matter what it looks like, it could be worse.

Years ago, I was on the air at a radio station during an ice storm. The building sat directly underneath the 600 foot tower. Ice began falling from the tower and loudly hitting the roof so frequently that I stopped opening the microphone and just segued records.

After awhile the operations manager came in and asked for my car keys so he could move my car away from the building, and out of range from the ice. A few minutes later he came back and said he had good news and bad news. The good news was he had moved the car. The bad news was that it was AFTER the roof of my VW Super Beetle had been caved it.

9. Yes, I was inside, but this was a station where that tower had fallen in an ice storm several months previously.
