Covered this song before they were famous. I saw them twice at stony brook when duane was alive.

Allman version blows the doors off the GD version.

Saw the GD around 1983 in Hartford

but why pick?

There are hundreds of Dead versions and I like this one but would not say it's my fave, or maybe it is.
Depends on mood and the feelings evoked.
