Out of surgery. Procedure #2. This one went much better.

They didn't have to place stents this time, so it no longer hurts when I pee, and I can probably go back to work on Thursday.

Thank you everyone for your kindness. I love you all.

This last procedure went much better than the one two weeks ago. It's been 24 hours, and I'm no longer in pain, and there's no bleeding. So that's good.

That's work. Now for life: This weekend or next, Mrs. Aristus and I are looking forward to trying out a new restaurant in town. We have very broad-based palates. We enjoy a good burger from Jack-In-The-Box, but we also love fine dining, and this place seems to be it. Mrs. Aristus loves seafood, and living in the Pacific Northwest is great for people who do. I'll get her a nice dinner.

Austin: my second-favorite city in Texas. #1: San Antonio, my birthplace. I live in Washington now, and love it. But I have fond memories of Austin.

And San Antonio is maybe the most fascinating city in Texas, very Old World in parts of it, although my mother passed on a fear of driving in downtown SA. The roads being built on old cattle trails threw her for a loop.

I'm now in the Hill Country in the county just south of Austin.

I had to get a kidney stent once.

Had it in for about 3 weeks after a cystoscopy.

Gross hematuria with unknown cause.

After 3 weeks, I called my urologist and said GET THIS DAMN THING OUT OF ME!

So glad to read you are doing well!
