Sadly, we won't be at the Yale Bowl to watch Ivy League football season this year...hubby's disabled back can no longer

access the stadium. Spinal stenosis, for which he has had two surgeries, is the cause.

We had a great run over the past 10+ years and saw some wonderful games BUT ALSO

*Paul McCartney, sitting alone, whose grandson was a Yalie at the time AND

*Malia Obama, with a group, on the Harvard side, at THE game another year

We didn't interact with either of these two individuals but heard about their presence when we went in the gate to the parking lot. We asked the attendant if there were any "notables" in attendance at each game and were given a rundown of who was there (they were advised ahead of time). Some other politicians whose names I have forgotten also in attendance.

The Yale Precision Marching Band - a group of students attending the Music School who present parodies of Big Ten school marching bands on the field during halftime. Google them for more information about their zany halftime shows.

It was fun, we loved our tailgate group, but age and disability take their toll. This year THE game will be at the Bowl. We will sorely miss our seasons at the Bowl.

Sorry to hear about your husband, mine is in exactly in the same boat. Stenosis and two surgeries in. God bless him, he's a trooper, but the recovery is not what we'd hoped for either. Be well... both of you.
