I would definitely go in. Most of my place is full of shit that I don't need, but enjoy having around.

I have a new rule. Nothing new comes in unless something old goes out.

Ask me how that's working for me.

had anyone over for dinner for a while. I haven't been able because I have way too much shit cluttering everything everywhere and said that as soon as I got it under control I'd again be having dinner parties.

Afterward, I realized that we were walking back to the car from a thrift shop, and I'd said that while carrying two bags of MORE shit.

I swear it seems I move things from room to room, fully intending to get rid of stuff.
But somehow it doesn't quite happen that way.

The store uses many different names. I got a house full, a garage full and an outbuilding full of shit I don’t need. My BIL keeps his garage door open about 90 percent of the time whether he’s home or not. If I Want to get rid of something I just Chuck it in his garage. If I need it I’ll go borrow it from him. It’s great to have more shit than you need. Then we all swap our shit out during garage sales.

I live in a gated community, not my choice, inherited.

Once a year we have what would be called garage sales, although most of us have carports.

I swear, everybody's shit moves from one house to another, and then the next year with the next sale, another. It's this horrible cycle of shit!

I walked through my house one time, from room to room, making note of the fact that I had items in my house from at least 10 other neighbors!

As per Forest Gump, I call Garage Sales a Box of Chocolates, you never know what you’re gonna get. I find the occasional gem and I’m looking for lawn mowing shirts every year. My neighbor who is a nice old very proficient Jack of damn near every trade has an outbuilding full of tools he has purchased at garage sales for decades. And my wife and I both read. A lot. Garage sales have been an outstanding source of reading material. And for me that includes 40 year old Readers Digests and TV Guides. My life is just a bundle of excitement.

Sometimes, you find the perfect item you actually did need, and you get it at a greatly reduced price!

I have a 5-piece bedroom set that a neighbor GAVE to me, (six pieces if you include the mattresses.)
I'm still sleeping on it, years later.

I have some other neighbors who are experts at garage sales. I go over to their house and I see the most beautiful furniture, and I ask them where they got it. Garage sales. Lamps I would kill for, chairs that you can sit in for days. Art work. They somehow have this incredible radar to find great pieces at ridiculously low prices!

a larger house with no out buildings. Yesterday I loaded a 20 yard dumpster with those treasures. A few weeks ago I put out a big free sign and only 2 people stopped.
I think the problem was, I just like to talk to people at the sales.
