Related: Culture Forums, Support ForumsMy morning, with 3 pics of a stunningly beautiful cat.
It doesn't take much to make my day.
I had the best breakfast this morning at my favorite diner. The vibe in this place is amazing. I'm thinking about asking if they need some help there. I would love to work there.
I had 2 eggs over easy, home made hash, and home made rye toast that was the best bread I ever had. Each slice was about 5/8" thick. I dipped the toast in Frank's Hot Sauce.
They were blasting classic rock tunes. The place was filled with lone men sitting at little tables. They always BLAST the music in this place. Today it was Led Zeppelin. The guy next to me, in his 60's I would say, lost himself and spontaneously played air guitar like no one was watching for about 2 minutes.
My waitress was having back problems, and another waitress gave her a back massage as they stood next to my table. I asked her if she felt better, and we started chatting. She told me her husband just started a bluegrass band, so I asked her if they liked Billy Strings and Sam Grisman. She replies YESSSSSSSSS! So we had a good chat about music.
As I left out the back door, I was startled by a stunningly beautiful cat at my feet, blinking calmly at me. My camera skills don't capture the full beauty of this cat. I petted the cat and snapped some pics shown below.

(56,237 posts)by the ever cheerful Nyuen. He is from South Sudan. When he told me that, I instantly said something generic about a brother in law that had done some archeology work there but was afraid to ask him more. He is the right age to be one of the "Lost Boys" and it made me so sad, yet proud we did help some of them, then it makes me so angry when I think of all the bad shit in the world and what is happening to refugees and immigrants in this country.

To Zepplin no less.

(86,421 posts)His (?) collar medallion says Mini. I wonder if thats the cats name. Seems like an inside joke that stuck. The same way Tiny can be a nickname for a big lunk of a guy. Usually a note of familiarity and affection.

(3,355 posts)But that looks like a Maine Coon. I had a mixed Maine Coon cat years ago. While he had a short hair coat, he was physically large and had huge paws with the typical Main Coon tuft of hair between the pads of his paws. He had the typical, American Short Hair breeds attitude towards water/getting wet: Unlike Maine Coons, he hated water, outside of drinking it. He loved to dip his paw in water and then drink off his paws, though. 🤷♂️
Unfortunately, we lost both him and his sister to diabetes and its neuropathic effects. Those symptoms didnt become apparent until it was too late. 😞
