But I do take an elderly neighbor to do her shopping. She insists on Walmart. She is 89, I cannot argue with her.

P&G discontinued the powder version some time ago.
The liquid is still being made at 3 North American sites. (I've been to all of them!)
P&G now considers this their budget product. It may work great for your needs, but know for absolutely certain, that the biggest difference between Super Premium (Tide), Premium (Gain) & Budget (Cheer) is water.
Compositionally, they are all VERY similar (though not identical) but at increasingly lower concentrations of the active surfactants that do the cleaning.
The only way to lower that concentration is by adding water (and a little salt, for viscosity building)
So, it's a cheaper product, but it's also an inferior product.
Now, some people live with that because budget products usually have less fragrance. I can't stand the fragrance in Gain. Others are nuts about it.
We use Tide because the fragrance isn't as strong as in Gain.
But, a pro science tip: you can probably just buy Tide and dose it at less than where the line is at on the cap.
Or, you can buy Surf, Arm & Hammer, or All. Those are priced between Premium & Budget and are very efficacious. (I worked a lot with that company on a phase stable formula using more mild [and more readily biodegradable] surfactants. )
You brought up a topic I know a lot about.

43 years, 41.5 with at least a masters degree in that field.
As a result, I worked with many formulators of cleaning products & things that needed emulsification/stable suspensions. (Film polymer manufacture, crop science & turf health products, shampoos, body wash, toothpaste........)
Lots of surface chemistry too.
Music was a lucrative hobby. But, science provided a lifestyle.

Could that have something to do with it? Amazon is selling Cheer Color Guard 150 fluid oz. for $27.66 which is about double for what I usually buy it. I think they go up on Amazon when supply gets low. . . . .
