Good morning my DU family,

I am reminded that my heroes did incredible, things under the most intense circumstances. What made them heroes however, is inside each of us.
Let us find heroes in our lives, and more importantly try to emulate them as best we can.
Please have a beautiful, meaningful day.
Love, John

Beautiful day forecast for today…
Thousands of heroic acts happen everyday we just don’t know…true heroes need no recognition.

Growing up during the civil rights movement, I had plenty, and being a science nut and general joker forever, I had plenty more.

But when I think back to my Dad, an artist, putting two kids through college, and Mom, who had the brains to be a college grad herself, being a mother, and school secretary to help us grow, they are incredible heroes, for whom I am thankful every day.

They gave me the smarts to succeed, a heart full of compassion, music, an artist's eye (it's photography for me) and so much more.

Those "other" heroes weren't too shabby, either.

It would take all morning to list them, but you can imagine ... from science, literature, civil rights, art and music .... and more.

And every day, the heroes here who encourage each other through difficult times.

I think back to a time in the service, when we had a job to finish over the weekend. I did my turn on Saturday, and showed up Sunday, to help the others get it done. The boss (a Commander) said "I thought you would show up". Working together and even fighting together against inequity is not hard work. It's mission.

We show up for each other here.

So beautifully stated.
Heroes really are like miracles too, so many around us, if we look.
