(1,185 posts)Well be thinking of you at the pond today, along with your dragonflies, butterflies, and hopefully a turtle or two.
Love from the butterfly brigade.

(2,544 posts)As I do, I'll be welcoming Apollos spirit to come and stretch his legs chasing the butterflies, dragon flies and of course, Cuddles lol.
I hope you two are making wonderful progress in his recovery.
I'm sorry for his struggles.

(17,999 posts)I was listening to sports radio, and the comment was made that (in a baseball series) "Greed is Good"
Sure, it's OK to sweep a series in baseball. That's just doing your job.
But looking at society, what if we toiled without greed, just a fair reward?
My (Buddhist) practice urges us to help others equally as ourselves.
In fact, there is no helping others without helping ourselves.
(Adults, put on the oxygen mask first!)
And there is no helping oneself without helping others.
(Some still don't understand that ... like the rugged individualist prepper who breaks an arm when the local clinic is bombed out)
That beautiful symmetry is what makes for a better world. In fact, it's all that's needed to get there, and it seems in desperately short supply right now.
But it starts with me and you.
Together
I first make my wishes for others, and then for whatever I might need or want.
You see, it's no a zero-sum game.
Good wishes, intentions and acts multiply, whereas manipulators would have you think that life is a "me or you" proposition.
THAT is the big lie.
And I don't buy it.
Cheers and the very best to you.

(2,544 posts)The truly befuddling part is that it is such an easy goal to strive for. All one has to do is be willing to care.
Thank you for taking the time to put words to "paper". They become part of my library of beautiful reminders, encouragements, goals, and starting points in seeking a great mindset.
You are a treasure Usonian and I treasure your responses.
With love and full agreement,
John
