(29,807 posts)Had to give up contacts for distance correction in my mid-40s when I started needing close-up correction. Correcting one eye for distance and one for close up seemed like I couldn't see anything well enough, and my eye doctor didn't think the weighted bifocal contacts would work for me.
Our cats would have to find a different toy if they wanted to play with my specs -
One of them loves Q-tips.

(15,006 posts)Mosby found an unshelled peanut on the floor in the sunroom, and has now been playing with it and carrying it around in her mouth like it's her kitten for a couple of days.

(28,616 posts)She would get one on the floor and bat it around for hours, or until it went under something where she couldn't get it. She would bat it down the stairs, go down and get it in her mouth, bring it back UPstairs, and then do it again! I sometimes called her my little hazel nut nut.

And you have no say in the matter.

Kick in to the DU tip jar?
This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.
As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
