You can do this. Make sure you know what is supposed to happen after. If they are that short staffed we have to do whatever we can to make sure we are OK. I cannot imagine being on either side of a short staffed hospital. Ask the doc what you need then try to make sure that happens. I was an ICU nurse in the WAY back and we ran ourselves ragged trying to make it all happen and we were fully staffed. Sadly we have to take care of ourselves as much as possible now.

Someone shouldn't have to worry if they have adequate staff at a hospital! I know I'm stating the obvious, but all that is happening is just so incredulous to me, that I sometimes need to remind myself of the obvious things that are right and just.

I hope he sails through easily and all is handled well. Hope you are staying well during all of this .

I once spent 16 days in the hospital, divided between ER, ICU and 14 in cardio. It is a worrisome place, no doubt, but obviously the best place for him, at the moment.
