Trump got the whole internet in an uproar yesterday by teasing a mysterious Oval Office press conference for Thursday. The rumor mill went wild: apparently he’s going to “declassify” information that finally proves his six-year quest to convince the American people of the great lie — that the 2020 election was stolen from him. Word is he also plans to declare that Senators Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock of Georgia are “illegitimate.”

Let’s be very clear about something: this is complete and total horseshit.

Donald Trump lost the 2020 election to Joe Biden and Kamala Harris because he was a shitty president. He wrecked the economy. He got people killed. He unleashed a pandemic across this country. He was corrupt as hell, and we were all sick of his shit. That’s it. That’s the whole story.

And yes — he came back into power four years later because people were mad at the Democratic Party. Mad about the economy, mad about inflation, mad about how Joe Biden’s aging was handled. I accept that. I’ve never pretended otherwise.

The real controversy in my eyes is the weak complicity of the press and their undying devotion to using his BS and reality TV horseshit to pander for access and ratings. It is so pathetic that if it were not leading to real deaths and pain in the world it would be considered satire or comedy.

Trump has been doing the EXACT SAME FUCKING THING FOR 11 YEARS. Wildly overstate something or just make it up out of whole cloth...double down on the BS and attack anyone who questions it. Next, pretend to not know what they are talking about and repeat the lies in different words but very much the same tones. Then deny saying the exact things you said and keep feeding the buzz words and repetitions via radio TV and podcasters/bro-casters.

Lather.
Rinse.
Repeat.
(And then move on to the next outrage when the mileage from the first is used up.)

This pattern is classic misdirection and would have made Goebbels blush with envy.
