Vance says Trump is 'looking at all his options' as the president threatens to invoke the Insurrection Act

(NBC News) WASHINGTON — Vice President JD Vance indicated in an interview on NBC News’ “Meet the Press” on Sunday that President Donald Trump was not opposed to invoking the Insurrection Act.

Asked by moderator Kristen Welker whether the White House was seriously considering invoking the 1807 statute, Vance said, “The president is looking at all his options.”

“Right now he hasn’t felt he needed to,” he added.

The Insurrection Act would allow the president to deploy the U.S. military domestically for law enforcement purposes. The military is typically not allowed to be deployed on U.S. soil for domestic law enforcement purposes without congressional authorization.

Actual events should drive such a decision, not someone's offended feelings. By this time next week we'll know if they plan to obliterate the whole social contract that the Enlightenment spawned.

May very well be the flash point. It's gonna be massive, and their fragile egos can't handle that. Some predictions put the estimated turnout to 3-5% of the entire US population. That's the point where old things get torn down and new things emerge, theoretically. What an interesting time to alive in America, huh?
